• the young couple then had a son of their own, duke's now step brother who's only two years younger than him. his step father wasn't particularly fond of him as he worries that duke may inherit the family business. but still treated him fairly, like his own.

• duke and his younger brother grew up to be close. he loves his role as the big brother figure and would protect his younger brother at all cost. but as they grow older, his step father made them feel a bit distant to each other. for him, duke is not his own blood and would make his own son and duke compete for the inheritance. and that made duke felt lonelier as he already was.

• he then spent his focus on his studies, and more on his self. he wanted to prove his family that he can be of great help to his grandfather, his family and the family business too someday despite being father-less.

• his step father never fails to make him feel unwanted as much as he can get the chance. he only puts on the 'i love duke like he is my own' facade so he wouldn't get on the chairman's bad side.

• that made duke felt like he is the illegitimate child despite being the first born. there are times when he also feels insecure about himself because of it. and also a little jealous of his younger brother for having a complete family. but his jealousy didn't falter his love for his brother. unlike his step father.

• duke is actually disabled: he is color blind. something that nobody knew except his family. hence that's why his step father kept on belittling him too. saying he really doesn't fit to be the next in line. also, this is the reason why duke posts in b&w photos, etc.

• honestly duke doesn't care whether he takes over the family business or what. he is not power hungry or greedy about money despite his family literally responsible 1/4 of china's economy. for him, being accepted and loved by his grandfather and mother is enough for him.

• he then grew up to be aloof as his step father made him and the other son break their brotherly bond.

• the public now knows his existence after being introduced as the first born of his step father. as it was only for the act.

• when he reached his 2nd year of college, his grandfather passed away. he was so deperresed that time that he had to stop for another year of schooling.

• a year later he overhead that it was his step father who was behind the death of his grandfather. though nobody knew about this. it was believed to be a rumor inside the walls of their home but it never reached to her mother nor the other families.

• due to what he heard, he started accusing his step father and lashed out on him. it was their first time to see duke be aggressive like that. but he was only dismissed by the man.

• embarrassed and disappointed with his actions, his mother decided to ground him for a month. this also made his younger brother turn his back on him.

• out of his anger towards his step father, duke unknowingly used his second ability, fire, every time he sees his step father either just in the same room or from afar.

• the first time it happened was when he set his step father's blazer on flames as he was about to wear it. his step father's things going up in flames out of the blue from time to time? what the fuc is this!

• as the time goes, duke's well-being and safety has become uncontrollably under threat. there were times where he has been into countless of accidents and kidnaps. had it not been with all the bodyguards surrounding him, and his powers too, he would've been probably dead by now.

• all of this has been lead to believe because of his status. as the grandson of the late chairman and/or being quite well known in the industry. but his mother knew it was beyond those.

• of course she knows that about zeus and the consequences of her decision. so she also knew about her son being different.

• he later then on found out that his mother made a friend to whom he was introduced to. who also now happens to be his guardian that explained his true identity and brough him in kratos.

• to duke, it all made sense now as to why whenever his emotions are heightened, where he feels overwhelmed with grief, anger and the likes, the weather would sync in with his mood.

• whereas when he was little, he would play around jokingly that he is the god of the skies and that he control s the weather. depending on his moods. who knew it's all actually true.. except for the god part where he is actually the son of the god of skies. still, he found it cool.

• it's been almost a year now since he arrived in kratos. where he learned more about himself, the greek myth history, and that he preferred using his abilities in fights than physical ones. hence he's more focused on enhancing his abilities more.
